1983: Naiad Press publishes Curious Wine by Katherine V. Forrest; Forrest becomes editor of Naiad Press 

1983: Naiad Press publishes Black Lesbian in White America by Anita Cornwall

1984: Firebrand Books is founded by Nancy K. Bereano, who intended to reach underrepresented voices in the lesbian print movement such as transgender women, women of color, and genderqueer people 

1985: Naiad Press publishes Lesbian Nuns: Breaking Silence

1987: Borderlands/La Frontera is published by Gloria Anzaldúa through Aunt Lute Books

1992: The Lambda Literary Foundation awards Barbara Grier and Donna McBride its Publisher’s Service Award 

1995: Katherine V. Forrest leaves Naiad Press as supervising editor; Anyda Marchant and Muriel Crawford resign from their positions at Naiad Press

2001: Naiad Press publishes their last books

2003: Barbara Grier gains recognition through the Lambda Literary Foundation through the Pioneer Award; Barbara Grier and Donna McBride retire 

2003: Bella Books buys much of Naiad’s inventory and takes on many important Naiad Press authors; Naiad Press shutters
